Mine never has. You just hot glue the rim, and it dries really fast!

Thank you so much for the quick response! I think so to my son is 16 months old and I want to start so many traditions I think this is going to be one! That makes perfect sense the bottom of my soup can was defiently rounded like you described…I was getting so frustrated I do not want an electric can opener lol I have made it this long without one 🙂 So glad I just had the wrong can.

These would be cute stocking stuffers! And I just used a regular hand-held can opener, but you need to make sure your can has a big enough “lip” on the underside- some of them have a soft of rounded edge and I would imagine the can opener wouldn’t be able to grip this type of edge.
